Simon Thackeray

Simon became the Practice Principal in 1998 and has continued to develop the practice and his team to become the award winning practice and team they now are. Not only is he committed to be able to provide you with the best care he is also committed to providing a place of work all his team are proud of. He is one of only a few dental practices to be awarded the Investors in People Gold Award which is a benchmark in good people management practice. He is a founder member and director of the British Association of Private Dentistry, a member of both the British Dental Association’s General Dental Practice Committee and Private Practice Committee. He has previously been a specialist advisor to the Care Quality Commission. He has lectured on various Medicolegal subjects and especially on the implications of Montgomery. 

Simon has previously worked in the Orthodontic department of Chesterfield Royal Hospital, and was a Clinical Tutor at the Dental School in Sheffield. He spent three years studying advanced restorative and cosmetic dentistry with the renowned Paul Tipton in Manchester. Simon is now involved in mentoring of dentists through the Dentinal tubules organisation, in the early years of their career to help guide them. Simon also has a masters degree in law completed in 2017 and is often in practice writing between 30 - 50 reports per year.
