Mike Hughes BDS (Cardiff) 2004, MFDS RCS (Eng), PG Cert Endodontics (Ches), Dip Rest Dent RCS (Eng), MSc (Leeds), FFGDP (UK), ITI Fellow (UK)

Mike , a fluent Welsh speaker graduated with merit from Cardiff Dental School in summer of 2004, and is a Dental Surgeon with special interest in Implantology, Periodontics, and Restorative Dentistry, and is the Lead Clinician at the Menai Bridge Dental Practice (BUPA platinum),Anglesey, where he has been working for 13 years. Mike is also the Study Club Director of the International Team for Implantology (ITI) for Anglesey and North Wales, and an ITI Fellow, and lectures frequently to local dentists on implant treatment planning in an informal forum.

In 2013 he was rewarded with a MSc in Clinical Restorative Dentistry from the University of Leeds, with the thesis “Evidence for the use of full mouth disinfection in treating periodontal disease in primary dental care”.

His main lecture interests are advanced restorative dentistry with splitting treatment into more manageable phases and treatment planning sequencing, which includes implant planning, management of periodontal disease and use of CBCT.
