This recorded webinar for the entire dental team both introduces the opportunities available for the dental team to get involved in smoking cessation programmes, and also signposts practices to a pilot scheme where funding is available to run a smoking cessation in dental practices.
Dr. Richard Holliday is one of the leads for the The ENHANCE-D Study (ENHANCing smoking cEssation interventions in Dentistry). The study will evaluate the impact of primary care dental professionals providing 'in house' enhanced smoking cessation interventions such as nicotine replacement therapy (NRT) or e-cigarettes on both quit rates and oral health parameters. It will be recruiting participants from 56 dental practices across England and Scotland.
This course aims to provide learners with knowledge and understanding of smoking cessation and the opportunities available for the dental team to get involved in smoking cessation programmes.
