This course covers both the professional and statutory duty of candour.  It looks at the importance of openness, honesty and transparency, and the need for an apology when things have gone wrong for patients. It examines your responsibilities in the professional duty of candour and your obligations in the statutory duty of candour.  It also looks at best practice tips for how to say sorry.

Aims

This course aims to provide learners with knowledge and understanding of both the professional and statutory duty of candour.
