About This Course

Under the First Aid Regulations, all workplaces must have adequate first aid provision available for all employees, although there is no legal requirement to provide first aid treatment and facilities for non-employees, including patients. This is module 4 of a series of 5.

Aims

This course aims to help learners understand how poisoning can happen and the appropriate action to take to reduce any risks. An overview of how to recognise if poisoning has occurred and the appropriate action to take, is given.

Objectives

To understand how poisoning can occur and how to reduce the risks.
To recognise the signs and symptoms of poisoning.
To understand what action to take if poisoning occurs.

Learning Outcomes

On completion of this module you will understand how poisoning can happen and take the appropriate action to reduce any risks, you will also recognise if poisoning has occurred and take the appropriate action.
